Mark Eister

Director, Military Outreach

Mark Eister is a US Army veteran with over 21 years of service. In March of 2012 Mark joined Georgia Perimeter College, now consolidated with Georgia State University, to develop and direct its Military Outreach Program, where he and his staff serve and assist a population of over 2,800 military and veteran students each semester. As the Director of Military Outreach at Georgia State, Mark has developed a number of programs designed to serve military and veteran students and to educate and inform staff and faculty on veterans’ issues. His efforts are being recognized across the state and nationally as ‘best practices’, being Ranked the #1 Military Friendly® Tier 1 Research Institute in the Nation for 2019-2020 and again a Top Ten School in 2020-2021. He is also routinely called upon to assist and guide other colleges and universities in developing their own military/veteran outreach programs. Mark earned his Associate’s degree in Technology from Pierce College, WA; Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Liberty University, VA; and MBA/Business Operations from TUI University, CA, all while serving on active duty in the US Army. He routinely participates in veterans’ panels and presents at conferences and seminars across the country aimed at improving the college experience and success of student veterans.
