Josh Clarke

Veterans Resource Outreach Director

Josh is the Veterans Resource Outreach Director for Minnesota State University Moorhead. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating comprehensive support services for Veteran and military-connected students. Josh retired from the North Dakota Air National Guard (NDANG) as a Chief Master Sergeant with over 29 years of service in 2023. He joined the North Dakota Army National Guard in 1994, serving as Man-Portable Air Defense System Crewmember and transferred to the NDANG in 1996, serving as a Security and Law Enforcement Specialist. Josh began serving full-time in the NDANG in 1997 and his final assignment was as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 119th Security Forces Squadron in Fargo, North Dakota. He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Bulgaria and Afghanistan. Josh also supported domestic operations throughout North Dakota. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Air Force Commendation Medal (2), Air Force Achievement Medal, and numerous other awards. Josh earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Mary and his Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice from the Community College of the Air Force.

I lead a team of passionate individuals who provide outreach and guide veteran and military-affiliated students to the resources and support services available on and off campus. My team also offers support and training to faculty and staff so they may better understand the unique challenges facing Veterans and military-affiliated students as they transition from military life to academia.
