Otero Junior College is a state public junior college operating on the semester system with a projected freshman enrollment of 450 and a total enrollment of over 1400. OJC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN). The 40-acre campus has buildings to accommodate classrooms, laboratories, observatory, greenhouse, cafeteria and coffee shop, residence halls, gymnasium, library, theatre, student center, and a fitness center. The college draws enrollment from the local service area of Otero, Bent, and Crowley counties as well as from across the state of Colorado and the U.S. The college also has a vibrant international student population that offers both international and U.S. student the opportunity to experience cultural diversity and understanding.
