Assistant Director, Student Veteran Services

Dynamic forward-thinking higher education professional with 10+ years experience in student veteran services, partnership/relationship development, recruitment/enrollment management and career professional development. In my current role I serve as the Assistant Director for Student Veteran Services at The New School, a private non-profit University based in the heart of New York City. With over forty-five undergraduate academic major offerings, robust graduate programs which includes doctoral across its five major Colleges including the world renowned Parsons School of Design, I am the University-wide point-of-contact for all its military connected students including military service members, veterans and family members. An innovative school at its core, I take great pride assisting this deserving population as they transition from combat to classroom to career, this also includes students who enroll at Parsons Paris, by providing holistic assistance in their academic, financial, social and professional development. In my previous role with American Corporate Partners (ACP), in addition to supporting 90+ mentorships, I had the privilege of spearheading their Outreach Team working predominately with military bases/installations, other veteran service organizations and universities around the globe. I led a team working toward the goal of having as many service members, veterans and active-duty spouses take advantage of their free one-on-one tailored professional mentoring program with a hand-selected Mentor from one of their 80+ Fortune 500 partner companies. I also served as the Team Lead and primary Moderator of their online platform ACP AdvisorNet. Prior to that, I founded the Office of Military Veteran Services at Pace University in 2011 where I led all military veteran initiatives, events and programming assisting all military connected students with their holistic transition from combat to classroom to career.I begun my professional career serving as the Psychometrician at Lincoln Hall, a youth adjudicated facility for juvenile delinquents. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and am Board Certified. On a Pier Diem basis I have served as a Chemical Dependency Therapist at “The Turning Point,” a 55-bed inpatient drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation unit in MidHudson Regional Hospital located in Poughkeepsie, NY, a member of Westchester Medical Center Health Hospitals.
