University of California Berkeley is a four year, public university in Berkeley, California. UC Berkeley offers students over 350 degree programs in 130 academic departments and 80 interdisciplinary research units.

The University of California was founded in 1868, born out of a vision in the State Constitution of a university that would "contribute even more than California's gold to the glory and happiness of advancing generations."

The university offers two different types of online courses: continuous enrollment and fixed date.

Continuous enrollment courses are offered year-round, and you can enroll anytime. Within specific guidelines, you can tailor your completion schedule with your instructor. Search for courses in the "ongoing" term to find continuous enrollment courses in the course catalog.

Fixed-date courses are offered on a term basis with specific start and end dates, as noted in the course catalog. You are required to complete the course within the date range listed.
