UIU Benefits for Military and Veterans

  • Military Tuition Assistance Tuition Rate - Upper Iowa University is a proud military-friendly school and UIU matches the $250 tuition assistance rate for all graduate and undergraduate courses.

  • Patriot Grant - is available for all military personnel (active, guard, reserve and retired), as well as their family members, who are Department of Defense ID card holders. Veterans also qualify for the Patriot Grant.

  • Military Family Grant - We offer all active duty, reserve, and National Guard service members a tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for all undergraduate and graduate level courses (as of January 2022). Additionally, UIU offers the Military Family Grant to all qualified spouses and dependents of active duty, reserve, and National Guard serve members. This grant provides a $250 per credit hour tuition rate for undergraduate courses and a $325 per credit hour tuition rate for all graduate courses.

  • Credit for your military service (based on Joint Services Transcript) - Transfer up to 90 semester credits from an accredited 4-year institution (maximum of 78 lower-division credits from a two-year institution) with C- grade or better.
