WVU-Tech consists of two academic colleges offering more than 30 different programs. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1, WVU-Tech's small classes provide students with personalized attention in a supportive environment.
As a division of West Virginia University, WVU-Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities. Several academic programs, including engineering, engineering technology and nursing, hold specialized accreditation. WVU-Tech is located in Montgomery, West Virginia, amongst the picturesque mountains of the Appalachia.
The University is centrally located between two of West Virginia's largest cities, the state capital Charleston and Beckley.
The Golden Bears compete in 13 NAIA Division I varsity sports. With more than 30 student organizations, including academic honor societies, Greek life, and intramurals.
WVU-Tech offers a vibrant campus life. On-campus residents live in one of two co-ed residence halls: Ratliff Hall and Maclin Hall. WVU-Institute of Technology is governed by the West Virginia University Board of Governors and the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
